I have an edelbrock carb and the electronic choke idles the car at 500rpm and then builds up to 800-900 when its warm. How do I adjust it so that it idles higher? There is this black round unit that I take off and it has a wound(spelling?) metal coil type thing. I catches an arm that adjusts the gate in the actual carb. I guess I have to line that up with the mark on the carb, but it doesn't do anything. The car still idles low and bogs alot when it first starts. I'm stuck and don't know what to do. Help!?

Theres a set screw to adjust the cold idle UNDER the throttle arm. Turn it clockwise 1/4 turn at a time at most and start it again, it'll come up quick on ya.

is that on the side of the choke or the side with the idle screw and throttle cable? I can't see any screw there.

Okay, where the throttle cable connects to the throttle arm, push the arm all the way so its WOT. You'll see the screw from the front then.

The edelbrock is kaka. I just need it to last a bit more. Eventually I'm gonna get a Rochester. www.bcbroncos.com sells a remanufactured guaranteed carb for like $239. Its electronic choke and its the closest thing to fuel injection. Thats a helluva carb for a helluva good price. Just my two cents. :)

By the way, Flatty told me about it. He'd know a lot more than me about the Rochester than I would.
