Anyone running one in a 10.25"???

Looking for added traction for the street. But don't want something that can't handle a little HP.

I had one for several years and probably 30k miles or so. It hadn't given me any problems up till I sold my rig and parts.

Diddo running one in my comp mud truck, with 35"boggers and warmed over 400 no issues at all, i wouldn't hesitate to run one again with alot hp and more tire.

I have one in my F-350, it's not a wheeler, but gets plenty of miles as DD, and pulling around the wheeler. No complains behind a 7.3 and 5 speed. When I get the money, I'll put one in the 60 up front.
Also have a have two buddies that run them, one in a wheeler, the other in a DD. They both love them.

Mines been great in the back of my Toyota for about ten years...and was in the front of a friend's Yota for a year or two before that. Kinda noisy sometimes, but works good.

Anyone with a LockRight have any updates about performance? Any breakage? Been thinking about one for my front D60. I was thinking a LockRight or Power-Lok. Detroits are a little too spendy for my budget

Running 37" Toyo MT, 460, T18 manual, 90 F350.

I've had a D60 lockright in my F350 for about a year. Its a multi-purpose truck - not a dedicated offroader. Works fine.

Two of my buddies have Lockrights in the 94/96 CTDs. One has them both ends. The other has the front only. Both are DD trucks.

I've been running one for about 40k miles on and off road. The springs are getting a little weak in it where it won't engage well when below freezing until the gear oil warms up.

I still love it. It has gotten me into more places then I should be. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another for my front axle.

PS yea they are loud sometimes.

Get all new springs and drop them in! Done. I didn't even call richmond, I just found some that "felt" similar. :flipoff2:

Powertrax lock rights and no spins are great units. The only real drawback to running one is you retain the stock carrier that the spider gears go in. That carrier is much weaker than a detroit because it a stock cast piece. This is something I would worry about if I had big tires + small axles and reasonable hp/tq. To guys like 75F100 with the original question, I wouldn't hesitate throwing it in a 10.25 beacause you have such a massive carrier to begin with. Go for it.

Anyone running a Lock Right in a 10.25 who knows whether I can use a limited slip carrier, or if I need to pick up an open carrier? The application chart on the Powertrax site no worky.

There is no Lockright for the 10.25" posi - it has to be the open carrier. That's why I got a Detroit.

Now for the 10.5" carrier (3-spider/split-case) there is a Powertrax No-Slip for both the open and posi.
