Got lucky this morning, I went to my 4X4 parts guy to pick up a knuckle rebuild set i ordered and saw he had a Bj60 junker. I almost made a little victory dance when i noticed the power steering and disc brake setup wasn't pulled out yet, the whole disc brake & power steering setup changed owner for only 635 US$.
So next time I'll go cruising I won't be sweating my ass of because of turning that big Mottafawkin steering wheel, nope, I'll be cool cruising with 1 finger lightly on the steering wheel :smokin: :smokin: . I think i migth even buy me one of those cool steering wheels, then my days of hitting my knees when i turn the steering wheel will be over!!
And my days off having a heart attack every damn time in need to stop quickly will be over too!!!
Now for the questions,
Discs, for now I'm keeping the rear drums, will i need a proportioning valve to regulate the braking?? I'm keeping the original master cilinder and brake booster. Another thing, should i redo the brake lines, or will my old copper (i think) brake lines be ok? I don't think they wear out.
Power steering, anyone ever done a 60 power steering swap into a 40? Any write ups on the web (none on Ih8mud)? Anything tricky i should look out for??
