I was just trying to figure out the best way to Deer Valley from Pardoe. Either side of pardoe, it doesn't really matter, but the East side would be easier seeing how we plan to start from the West side.

My group of rigs plan to run Pardoe on Saturday the 18th and we also want to catch Deer Valley. The only thing is we don't want to run the paved roads. Not much fun with 39.5's and a 22re, the others just don't feel comfortable ( 44's and soft suspension). If we have to run the roads what's our best bet? Also is there any RV type campgrounds near Deer Valley?

I don't know of anyway to get away from traveling on the Hwy between those 2 trails. On the East side you can come out the Mud Lake trail that intersects with the Pardoe at the top of Squaw Ridge near the Plasses Trading Post, but that still puts you just west of Silver Lake. You'd still have 10 or 15 miles of hwy driving to get to Blue Lakes (north end of Deer Valley trail). If you're trailering, maybe you should just park near Tragety Springs and go in and out from there. The west end of the Pardoe trail is mostly a dust bowl with no real obsticles anyway. There is one section about midway between the the West end and the Mud Lake junction that can be fun though. When I run this trail I usually go in and out from Tragety Springs. Most of the fun stuff is east of Mud Lake road anyway. But that trail doesn't go thru. So you have to come back out the way you went in.

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks. We were going to stay in my toy hauler that I use to haul the Toyota, but all the campgrounds are full. So it looks like we are going to try and find a hotel in Kirkwood or somewhere nearby.

Anyone know of any decent hotel/motels in the area? Deer Valley or Pardoe? Or even a nice rv park? We are being big pussies on this trip.
