Code3Response 08-15-2007, 12:01 AM My DD/Towrig went out on me today 200 miles from home, and now I need to figure out a way to get it back. It needs to be brought to the dealership here. Ive got a trailer it will fit on, but no tow rig. Would renting a U Haul and using my trailer and towing the truck on it (total truck and trailer weight 8900 pounds) Any other ideas? Im not wanting to foot a huge tow bill. mike91 08-15-2007, 01:26 AM I would say go for it. My buddy is a licenced uhaul dealer that does referials over the phone. Give him a call, (208)290-1608. He can make a reservation and meet and beat any price out there. Just tell him that mike stevens refered you, I am sure he will get you a good deal if he hears it is comming from me. I would say go for one of the bigger trucks available though, I think the gvwr is 18,000 on those.:) Travis Waldher 08-15-2007, 06:30 AM I've yet to see a U-haul truck with a real receiver and not a ball attached to the trucks bumper. I would not hesitate to go get a buddies truck and have on many occasions.... and my friends have done the same for me on a few occasions as well... Haole even went ot Vegas to get my Jeepster with a borrowed trailer once :) Hell if I wasn't leaving for Dusy this weekend, I'd even consider heading up the coast and hauling it for ya if you hadn't figured it out by then...
