I'm looking for an FJ40. It needs to be in decent shape - both mechanically and structurally. This will be my daily driver, so the existence of AC, working or not, is a bonus. Paint should be fair to better than average, must have very little or zero rust.
Disks in the front are a major selling point, so 76-late is preferred. 4 or 5 speed a must, 2F a must. I'm not interested if it has a 350.
No bigger than 33" tires or a 3" lift.
Hard top and doors a major bonus.
Let me know if you are looking to sell something along these lines - I'll entertain anything is the price is right and the good parts are good. :)
Bottom line is, I'm willing to pay for the right truck, so you know I'm not just fishing.

Sloan 06-12-2002, 10:20 AM Check in the for sale section there is a really clean 75. I think he was only asking $6500. As for AC there is a hot rod company that makes a kit for the FJ40 that is only around $800.:D

Eskimo 06-12-2002, 12:44 PM There's a nice '80 for sale in Durham, NC.. The guy is a cruiser-head. he's got the 40, a 62, and a 100.
Hard top & doors, new seals, rear area is diamond-plated, I didn't see any rust. Runs nice, didn't drive it though. Paint is good..tan. He wants $11,500 though. He'll be at the JT Outfitters swap meet this weekend.. Take a trip! you might find your perfect FJ!

White over tan classic. Bought in 2001, 500 miles on rebuilt engine, and new/rebuilt: brake system, third member, clutch, locking hubs, shocks, exhaust system, alternator and regulator, radiator, carburetor, new parking/turn lights, tires and miscellaneous trim. Excellent condition - a great cruiser!

its in Birmingham its a 76, tan, rebuilt engine, new brakes, 3rd member. clutch, hubs, shocks, exhaust, alt, radiator, carb, lights & signals. The ad says it has air and power steering but I would check that out. $11,000 o.b.o. and its running in the Birmingham news. The owners name is Alex Brooke 205-871-8487.

Actually, you can ge the LCML in digest or real time format - meaning you get each message sent to the list in an email wiht the subject and sender.
It is just text, but email based. No emoticons or pics. But it's been around for years and has a ton of folks from around the world on it.

Donny Figliozzi wants to sell his 40 and his 45 - I think for more than you want to spend but his 40 has air lockers, winch, bar, etc and no rust. Has a few dents and scrapes though...
I've got his number if you want it.
Knowing donny he wants too much for it, but he just had a kid and got married so maybe...
