I have an 86 Runner SAS'd with All-pro 4" Springs in the back. I am running the lift shackle that comes with All-Pro kit. My first pass at rear hanger placement left me with too flat of a shackle angle. My second attempt (moving it back about 3") started out vertical but I never got the expected sag (flattening) of the springs so I am still vertical. I am going to split the difference as far as hanger position goes but I am also thinking about going with a longer shackle to both increase the droop factor and give me a little higher ride height in the rear.
The questions are:
Will a longer shackle give me the benefits I'm looking for?
Do I need to run a Trac Bar?
What are the options for purchasing a Trac Bar?
I've seen Budbuilts. I like it but the axle end mounting setup looks kind of bulky. I can do the welding but not the fabbing (no bender).
Thanks for the input.

Go with a "Jay Style" three point track bar:

I'm running 56" rear springs (Alcan) with the stock rear shackle hanger and 3.5" longer than stock shackles and it works great:

Shackles use 18mm bolts and 3/8" x 2" flat bar with center brace:

Oops, just noticed that your question is two fold.
A longer shackle will increase your ride height by about one half of any additional length you add to the shackle. In Jay's article they use 7" shackles. All Pro's are about 5.75"? An increase to 7" would give you less than an inch of additional height.
Sounds like you may want to move your shackle ahead another 3/4" inch or more to get a small amount of angle to the shackle. Maybe 15-20 degrees?
Note: If you have the All Pro rears and retain the upper torque leaf you should not need a torque bar.

Thanks for the input, I'll go with the long shackles with my hangers moved forward an inch or so. If I start hopping I'll add the trac bar. I'm only looking to gain an inch or so of height in the rear (leveling). I'm currently using a Johnny Joint as the rear spring hanger and I'll probably mount it a little differently when I move them forward. Maybe I'll pick up a .25" - .5" there.
Paul,
I don't want anything to do with your man-love:flipoff2: but we may be doing a little trac bar fabbing before the mini Ultimate Adventure:D

I like this type of track bar. It's what I run and I've had no problems with it.

4RnrRick--
Looks like you cut the torque bar assembly off the front end, lengthened the tube on the bar and welded it back on the rear? Is that what we see here?
Do you have "twist" built into this design or do you plan on it ripping the top off your housing?
