Are ALL d44 carrier bearings identical?

i.e. Does my '98 TJ factory rear d44 use the same carrier bearings (Timken P/N: 25523 & 25590) as a '78 Ford hp44 front carrier?

A simple yes or no will suffice.

TIA

Yup. Same side gears, spiders and crosshaft; same carrier. Same pinion bearings and seal, too. Different gears for RR, and different cover (higher plug).

afaik, the seals for Dana RR axles are different (larger dia.) than the standard used in all other axles (except for a few waggy fronts in 78/79)

Thanks much all. That was what I figured, I was just looking for confirmation before I start dropping the coin for a handful of new Timkens that won't work.

These are the axle shaft seals you're referring to? I think that's right...

Be careful with this same bearing advice if you´ve got an ARB. At least in the case of the Dana 30, one of the side bearings is thinner than stock...

HTH, fawker!!!!...:flipoff2: :D
