Hey guys i got a few questions for ya. first let me say this is my first sammy and i dont know alot about them. First question is there a need for an o2 sensor in a carburated sami. Second, did an 88 originally have fuel injected engine in it. Third its stuck in 2nd gear and was wondering what could of caused this. I think that the guy i got it off of swaped in a carb and got rid of the fuel injection. just wondering if ya'll knew

Nope 88s are carbed man. Unless you had an oddball prototype or somethin. If it has over 80,000 miles theres your explanation for the trans. A rebuild replacement is not to expensive with your core. Any junk yard ones are so iffy iregardless of mileage. Probably dont want to waste money on a used one. They dont last that long anyway. And yes a carbed sammy has an 02 sensor.

they do have an 02 sensor ,stock carb is computer controlled..
