I posted this on DTR, but I always appreciate the Pirate point of view:D:D:D

My bone stock '00 2500 4x4 (100k miles) stalled about a month ago when I shifted from park to drive. The truck was already warm, and I immediately restarted it without a problem, and I dismissed the inident.

Fast forward to today...truck did the same thing numerous times after about 30 miles of easy driving, and also when going into reverse. The only differances are the weather and an SCT programmer. The first time the truck was stock and the outside temp was about 112 F. Today the outside temp is about 80, and about two weeks ago, I added an SCT program on Safe Tow (lowest setting). I ran the diagostics and there were no codes shown.

I do plan on getting a full gauge compliment very soon, but for now, I do not know what the fuel pressure is, but the truck normally runs well and never hesitates.

I would like to determine if this is an engine, fuel, or trans problem.

Any help would be apprecited, as this was very frustrating given the timing, and I would like to fix whatever problem becomes a bigger problem!!!

It may be the lift pump and or the injection pump.
I would check the lift pump first.

Thanks for the reply...

Not that it's not possible, but I don't suspect the lift pump or injection pump. I think if it was, I would at least see some codes. The truck only stalls after the shift, and it runs great all the way through the power band with no hesitation or loss of power. I am going to call around tommorrow and see if I can't figure this out.

If someone can direct me to a link or any info on this I would appreciate it

I'm not a professional mechanic, but I do suspect that this has something to do with the trans. The motor runs great, and I don't seem to have a fuel delivery problem anywhere in the RPM range. I will say that when I shift and the motor doesn't stall, it does emmit a noticeable RPM reduction for a second or two, and then it idles/drives fine...

Last truck I worked on that had the same sympton, ended up needed a new VP.

It, however, had a 216 code stored in the ECM.
