I've seen it done once
I have the hummer rims and recentered them but with competitions I need to have sticky's and the contingency money is too hard to pass up.
so would it "work" mounting 40x17 maxxis or krawlers on hummers with double beadlocks?

Wouldnt think so. With double beadlocks it might be possible though. Why wouldnt you just buy new wheels?

17's are expensive and wouldn't have double beadlocks

I have seen it done on a 16.5" weld on double beadlock but he said mounting it was killer, losing 1/4 inch all the way around makes it hard to get the rings to pinch the bead, I dont think it would work on hummer rims, that 1/2" makes a big difference as far as fitting the rim.

You could also probobly fuck a grapefruit if you really tried to but i think it would work out just as well. :flipoff2:

I wouldn't. easier to lose beads and maybe spin the rim to

My buddy has 40x17 hawgs on hummer rims, works perfectly, just balloons the tires a bit more.

would you have pics or can you get some. Also how difficult was it to mount them and get em centered. Are they holding tight?

yeah but what size rims, 40" hawgs are 17" wide, I dont think they make a 40" for a 17" rim.

that looks to be the case
interested in mounting tires for 17" rims on 16.5" rims double beadlocked
that be 1/4" off all the way around.

lol... wow, I was under the impression you were wondering about putting 40x17-16.5 tires on a HI rims, and worried about the width.. Not putting 17" ires on 16.5 rims... no idea there man, other than I doubt it would work very well..

I wouldn't. I saw the aftermath of what happened when somebody put a 16.5" tire on a 16" rim.
