: Treating Ring & Pinions!!!

We heat and cryo treat ring & pinions.

For offroad especially we heat treat the ring & pinion. This brings the rockwell hardness down a couple of points so it will withstand more of a shock load. Just like we do with the drag cars, then we cryo treat them. This successful process makes them much stronger than stock. We will treat any ring & pinion for $45.00 with free return shipping. Usally with a 2 day turnaround.

Hey Bobby Just wanted to let you and everyone know we did not break a gear set after you treated our tacoma gears, and you know how hard the big guy is on stuff.

A freind of mine also had me put a set of your treated gears in his 4runner on 38.5" tires. After one bad stuck on outer limits he though he had done the gears and brought the third and a new set of 5.29s to me. Your treated gears had a few small marks on 2 teeth and had some serious run out problems. When I bolted in the new gears the run out problems were the same as the old ones and I found the carrier was bent. With a new carrier he was on his way and I out of curiosity I set the treated gears up on a straight carrier and they ran true. In fact they are seving duty in my 4runner now. I think an untreated gear set would have lost teeth with that much deflection.

i just wanted to give you another heads up that my buddy shipped a toy 5.29 r&p to you to get heat & cryo'd for me since i'm in the desert at the moment. he e-mailed you a letter and he cc'd me on it as well. i'll also be wanting to buy a set of your chromo hub gears at the same time. if you could put them on the one bill when you mail back my r&p that would be great. just let me know, you now know what my screen name is on here as well as you should have me e-mail address.

thanks,
dan

No we have no way of testing them. But in comp. like Dave Cole Jeeprecovery team an others were breaking them all the time until we treated them with real good luck. Just like the ones we do for Drag cars.

sorry if this has been asked before, but after heat/cryo treatment, is standard break-in procedure the same, or is there a better way?
