I just replaced the front dana 30 hub assemblies on my 2000 TJ last night and did a little bit of an at home alignment as well, although didn't end up getting the steering wheel straight. after completing the work i drove it and at first was happy to see my great turning radius had came back but then when going down a hill at around 35 mph i got some really really bad death wobble, i turned around was doing fine and tested it but the only other time i got the obble was going uphill and turning as opposed to going straight downhill, also it happened once when i lightly hit the brakes. Anyone know what it could be caused by? im running 36" TSL radials on a 4" lift and it didnt wobble like this before after i got my drop pitman arm, could it be how uneven the tread is or what? Thanks

make sure check the toe-in while the jeep is on the ground. when its in the air it will toe-in because of the geometry of the Y-Type tie-rod

You have some worn out stuff, and adding the pitman arm changed your geometry enough that the bit of bumpsteer is kicking you into death wobble.
Left alone, the death wobble would have turned up sooner or later without the pitman change.
Check you unit bearing torque and the rest of your front for loose and worn stuff.

i know everyone will tell you to check everything, and you should. I got a bad death wobble the last 60 of 500 coming back from the rubicon. I had landed pretty hard on a lower control arm mount and bent it a little. ended up being the whole control arm was very loose on the mount. Tightened it up and was good as new. just goes to show you "check everything"
also like bnine said: check the geometry of your drag link and trac bar. they should be parrallel. good luck
I hate death wobble with a passion!
