For those coming, here's the directions:
Montgomery City, Missouri is located on Hwy 19, about 6 miles North of Interstate 70. Take the Hwy 19 exit from 70 & follow it North right into the town. The fairgrounds are on your right as you come into town. Montgomery City is a very small town - about 2,200 residents. We're expecting 5,000+ spectators at the event (just a bit more than last year's 4,700). So, you won't have much trouble finding it. And yes, there'll be signs.
For those planning to spectate, adult admission is $12, kids 6-12 are $6, under 6 are free. The first monster truck exhibition gets under way at noon, mud racing is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. & run ALL day. Rides in the monster ride truck are $5 each. All of this of course taking place Saturday June 22nd, 2002.
You cannot carry in coolers, but there will be plenty of concessions (including the frothy kind) for those of you planning to attend - "frothy" concessings not allowed in the "Pit" area however.
For those planning to compete in the mud race, entry is $40 per class & you'll receive a refund on your gate admission. 100% of the entry $ goes back into the prize purse & 3 classes have additional money added in. Just a guesstimate at this point, but I would think the total prize purse will approach $15,000. It was over $10k last year when the entry fee was $30 per class & we're expecting MORE trucks this year.
Entry is from 9-noon. Get there by 11 to get teched & checked in before the deadline. Check www.gumbo4x4.com for exact rules.
If you're planning to participate in the Show N Shine, I believe it's $10 per truck. Check www.smore4x4.com to be sure.
Need to know anything more, just ask :)
