: 4L60E work w/ Auto Tilt Column Shifter?

So I'm thinking about putting in a RamJet 350 & a Built 4L60E automatic in a project Jeep that has a factory Tilt Column & Column Shifter for the factory Automatic. I know the 4L60E is a 4-spd & the Column shifter is a 3-spd. Will this work together, and if so, will I have the pointers lining up OK & just missing the "OD" one, or what?

Thanks

pretty sure it will function, but you cant hold it in first. (D=OD , 2=3, 1=2)

If it were me I would just go to a floor shifter so you can hold low

I run a Trans-Am (late 80-early90) column now and a B&M mega shift truck floor shifer. I really dont like the B&M because 1st the mechanism does not operate correctly throwing the vehicle in reverse when I was paddle downshifting, and 2ndly, the cable on the gear indicator snapped 2x.

The appeal of an auto column is that I have more legroom (6'5") and .....cruise control (read old). Well i am only 29 really. But anyway, I switched the wiper controls and everything over to the column when I put the trans-am column in, now I am going to switch it to the early 90's s-10 Blazer column (S10 Blazer had better options, they go for $100 usually). DD fitting on the end. Cruise Control. Wiper Controls and Delay.

I like the floor shifter, but im sick of messing with it.

my $.02

pharmd, let me know when you switch to that Blazer steering column - I like that idea, getting all 4 gearshift positions on the column w/ cruise control / etc.

Would love to hear what you had to go through to get it to work in a CJ.
