ok pulled my tank and put in the back for now. all the smog and vapor burn cannister stuff, can i get rid of most of it? it was on the passenger side behind the rear tire. has 1 main gas line and 2 lines that run back and forth on top of the tank. they run into the cannister and then out. some have said i can unhook other people say it will mess my computer up and i will have check engine lights on.any info? i am going to a cell later so i know there is a way around it.i dont really want to hook the cannister back up in the back and use up that space.

I took mine out but its a 2000, don't know if there is any difference. My light came on but it runs fine, however I took out the cat also so I don't know what turned the light on. It was all done at the same time.

I just swapped in a 2005 setup and had no room for that canister and pump because of cut/comp corners and the roll cage. So I split them off the bracket, put a long hose between them and relocated them elsewhere. I worried that the longer hose would throw a code, but so far it hasn't.

Scanning through the software that came with my OBDII scanner, it looks like it could throw a variety of codes, some of which could turn on the MIL. I'd say that at best, it would cause the engine to run either too rich or too lean.

That's the little I know.

When you pulled it what did you do? Just block lines or tie them together?

You might try calling these guys http://www.bgchrysler.com/ and see if they can do a custom flash of your computer for you.

i was told it will make it run real rich if unhooked and throw the light on. i guess i will put it all in the back. so if i put a cell in it it will do the same thing?
