The 38.50 SX tires, were spelling quick death for the mustang PS pump.
So with the advice of CJ Dean, and everyone else who helped out with info, and with no help from AGR, who said they had tried repeatedly without success to modify the existing Ford Serpentine bracket to accept a Saginaw, I proceeded to modify the Ford bracket.
It took about 4 hours, and even retains the use of the exhisting serpentine belt.
I used a pump from an 80's 1 ton, deisel equiped truck, with the provision for the hydro boost. I got a press on serpentine pulley from a late model Camaro.
The bracket consists of cutting away the center section of the Ford bracket to make room for the saginaw, and then sandwiching that section with a front bracket for support and a rear bracket for propper allignment and depth.
I ran the hydroboost line to my auxillary remote reservoir along with the low pressure return, line then fed to a cooler and back to the pump.
The ststem holds over 3 quarts.
I will test it at the Hammers this weekend.

This modification was the 1st step, towards the ultimate steering set up, a hydro assist, which I need to get working on as soonas I get back from the hammers, to have it ready for Amadore in a month.

Looking good H8...don't get too carried away with the steering stuff until you swap-in a D-60 for the front.
Then you can rest... : )

Looks good. A question on your York though, how do you keep from melting your oil separator with it placed right off the compressor?

You probably don't want to hear this now that you're done, but some Ford vans used a saginaw pump from the factory. Not sure if this applys to the 302 or not, but I know its true with the 460.

Just wanted to let anyone interested, know that the set up worked awsome at the Hammers this last weekend. The steering was stronger and more effortless than it has ever been, and I never heard a peep or whine out of the pump all weekend. I flt the reservoir a few times after hard bouts of steering through the rocks, and it was pretty damn hot to the touch, but the fluid would cool down to just warm, in a couple of minutes, with the engine running. After running it hard on the sand dunes, with good air flow over the power steering cooler, the whole time, it never even got hot.
