Thinking about buyiung a 2004 ext. cab durmax from out of state. (i dont want to get to the truck and not like it so i have a few questions.) I dont like the long bed crew cabs and this particular truck is a long bed extended cab. Question is, what is the difference in wheel base between an extended car short bed and an extended cab long bed? LB crew cabs are 167. Second thing, what kind of factory warranty does this truck have on it? 7yr 200k??? Third thing, i read a thread a while back and it stated this year has fuel injector problems...how true and is there a reacall??
And finally, am i probably gonna get a few responses on my diesel choice so here is yours :flipoff2:

rclb - 133"
ecsb - 143.5"
eclb - 157.5"
ccsb - 153"
cclb - 167"

I believe the factory warrantee is still 3/36 with 100K coverage on the motor only. On at least '00 and '01 Dmaxs, GM has extended the warrantee on the injectors to 200K.

I previously owned an extended cab short bed, traded it for an extended cab long bed. I too was very concerned about the parking lot nightmares associated with longer wheelbases. I had to have the long bed for my business purposes and I can't live with just the standard cab, but the extended cab ended up being a perfect fit for giving me the extra space I need without excessivly long wheelbase.

As far as the actual feel when driving it is concerned, the long bed is significantly less maneuverable than the short bed. I find myself backing up a lot in parking lots to get a better angle. Not as bad as the crew cabs, but it's definately more noticeable than with the extended cab short bed.

The warrantee on that truck was still just 3/36 + 100K on motor. I wouldn't worry about the injector problem too much. It's still covered by warrantee and it doesn't happen to EVERY truck.

for the 100K on the motor, how many years does this cover?

This is what I have and I believe the warranty was 3yrs/36,000 miles. If not I sure would be glad to hear different.:D

The engine warrantee is at least 5/100. I think they will cover the motor up to 100K even if it is past 5 years although that will obviously not go on "forever".

One advantage of a long bed... larger fuel tank.

My '02 2500HD CrewCab SB has a 26 gallon tank. 6.0gas engine, so around town I fill it up by 300 miles. Long beds had 34 gallon (???) tanks.
