: TJ CJ gear swap?

Will 4.10 gears swap from a TJ to a CJ? Dana 30 front and Dana 44 rear on both. Both factory axles. I know high gears but they are free if they work.

i'm sure the fronts are different, no idea 'bout the rears.

i think the fronts are the same....i know that the CHEEZY lockers are interchangable from a CJ and TJ....we took one out of my buddys TJ and put it in my CJ....

so why wouldnt the gears work the same...

If I remember right, the TJ has a slightly shorter pinion and uses a crush sleeve instead of shims. Wont work in an old 30 housing.

ahhh...ok.

Anyone have a clue about the rear Dana 44?

no they wont the tj's pinion is shorter
