: Custom tire cutting...........anyone?

I want to do some custon tire cutting on the center section of tread on my tsl radials. Anyone know what kind of tools I need and where to get them?

Lol, not a nice thing to say. BUT, the easiest tool to cut tires is a grinder, just make sure you dont cut too deep.

Well, call me stupid, but wouldnt it be better to just go buy a tire groover?

And BTW, I'd groove them either way you see above... (the scissors & pizza cutter are on tires grooved different ways, if you look)

Cutting them straight across the middle lets them flex just as much as the way I did it (the best reason to groove them, IMO) but you also get that *thump*thump*thump*thump* as you roll to a stop a little more than u-cut tires... this way the shaking from that almost goes away completely. I'm really happy with the way I cut them so far.

I am really confused now:confused: I thought the pizza cutting was for siping and the scissors were for grooving. But you say you can use both for grooving, eh?
