: widening of full width axles?

how wide do you want them? why? you could buy some rockwells, with the hubs flipped out they're pretty damn wide.

Chebby D-60 front with 2" spacers and 2" back spacing wheels will put you near 85"!

The easiest way would be to do what was mentioned above. But if you really wanted to widen full widths, you would have to grind out the welds holding the knuckles on. Then drill out the rosette welds holding the tubes in the center section. Press out the tubes and get longer ones that are the same dimensions as the original ones. Press the new tubes into the housing, press the knuckles back on, and weld it up.

All of this can be done, but a much easier way to do it is to follow Old Scout's advice and just get some wheel spacers and/or less back spaced rims.

what if i want to go about 5" wider each way,, if i use spacer and offsetted rims at what point will the wheels snap off

Dually front, spacers in rear. The front is much more susceptible to load past the wheel bearings, so this way you would be (nearly) safe...
