Trying to find a good source for weld-in threaded inserts for use with heim and johnny joints. No one around this state knows what I'm talking about.

Hey Ath,
Where abouts in IA are you??? There are actually quite a few circle track shops around the state that would have this kind of stuff or access to it. As for wheeling, your right is sucks. There are a few private areas around the state that kick ass.
The only state OHV area that i'm aware of that 4x4's are allowed at, is near Ely/Solon. It's known as 600 acres.

Hey I'm just north of you, in the stick east of Waterloo. I'm kinda new to this area so I have yet to goto 600 acres. Used to goto a rock quarry a lot because I had permission from the owner but some jerks vandalized some equipment and now it's locked up to everyone which REALLY sucks. Other than that I know of one public "trail", it's kinda funny because it has a sign that says something like "not passable by low clearance vehicles". I pulled some dork in a S10 Zr2 out of a few places there. You ever want to get together sometime shoot me a mail.

Chassis Engineering (http://www.chassisenginering.com)

Coleman Racing, Chris Alston's Chassisworks, Mark Williams Ent., there are a few more that I can not think of right off the bat. Don't have web addresses handy on those, At work. Being an Iowa boy, I learned the value of Mail order at an early age. Yes, the majority of the parts stores SUCK.

I thought there was a club based around Waterloo. Can't remember for sure, will ask around. There is a place south of Knoxville that Make It Or Brake It uses. Central Iowa 4wheelers out of Des Moines has an area too, I believe.

Let me know if you need any more info.

Yeah its about the same around here.

Rural Opposition some of the people I know call it.

I lov eit when I stump parts guys that have "been in the business for 20 years, never seen one of those".

These guys need to get out form behind the counter.
