Just wondering if there is any difference between the 68 axles and the 1971 axles

68 i beleive had coursle spline axles and the 71 should have 30 spline fine. 30 fine are alot stronger ...

nope the 71 was also corse spline birfs, no difference between the two as far as i know. fine spline birfs came in with the disk brakes.

IIRC, they are the same; the earlier (pre 1968) axles have a monkey ball instead of a birfield. You might want to check to see what you have.

Hey Brian,
Look for side gears from a later Cruzah ( '76 or so ) and you can use the later fine spline axles.
