I got a line on an LT230 1.003 but it comes with a TF727. Anyone interested in the 727? Is there a market for them? Anyone know if you can change bellhousings to bolt something other than the rover V8 to it?

You should be able to buy an adapter to mate any motor to that tf727. Ive got the exact same thing sitting in my shed. Its just a regular old tf727 with an adaptor on the front (for the rover v8)and an extension housing and a spud shaft to adapt to the lt230 on the back. I would guess that that combo in the US would be worth its weight in gold.

But then again I really wouldnt know.

Ron...I'm interested! Might as well start working on the parts for Phase II now.

How does a 500ci Caddy in a D90 sound? Hmmmmmm. I betcha' it sounds pretty good!

So much for the weight bias issue! :flipoff2:

No Not the way I would go! Go buy a 440 and add a Mopar Performance 4.15" stroker crankshaft, then bore it 60 over and you have a 512! There are many more Hi po parts for a Chrysler wedge and the heads will out flow the caddy any day. It's a bolt on to a 727.

Here are the Desktop Dyno specs from the 440 I built for my speed boat.

Nuuuice!

I haven't settled on anything as far as the engine replacement (phase II) goes. The thing is the lump I will replace the 3.9 with has to have high displacement, and be cheap. Cheap because of the fact that I'll be starving it for oil, running it at ridiculously slow RPM's in extremely high heat, and generally abusing it. Now if she was a mall cruzer or the like, it be a different story.

I dunno'. I'm just pokin' around for now. I've been playing with the idea of rebuilding my 94' Sub's 454 tbi and using that...I'd replace the 454 in the sub with a 502 ram-jet (for towing and quick merging abilities!). Mmmmmmm. Talk about a sleeper Sub!

I was under the impression that the 727 that came out in the 1982 + Rangies was an International pattern with an adaptor plate to bolt it up to a Rover V8 so you could possibly bolt a 345 inter from a Scout up to it.
