Anyone done this? There is not much room for a steering arm, so I am unsure if this could even be done safely. I know, I know get a d60.... I am just tryin to make use of some stuff I already have, and save some cash...thanks

just use the "standard" dana 44 bolt pattern. same as a balljoint dana 60.

are you sure about that? these are nowhere near a flat top 44. they are a funky ford design.

Actually, I thought, (there's my problem!) the 50 had the same knuckle as a ball joint 60 and if so, yep, mill 'em, drill 'em and tap'em. This is exactly what dynatrac does (std. 44 bolt pattern) even though they do use a "dynatrac" casting for the outer knuckle.

The knuckles I have dont have near the room for a 44 arm. You could prolly get 2 of the bolts in there. Its a rectangular pad, maybe 2"long and 3" wide. There is also a cast in caliper bracket that I may not use. Using a tight 4 bolt pattern, similar to a small kingpin 60 arm may work, but there would be tons of leverage on the studs.
