I want to convert my 92 4.3 vortec to propane. I purchased a kit from propane guy and a intake manifold with the q-jet pattern on it. The rig had a howell harness but I want to run my own wires for a few different reasons.
What exactly do I need to hook up? From looking at the old set-up it seems I just need to give the coil power and the starter power for it to run.
Can I use the CPI distributor or do I need a vacuum one? The CPI has the electric advance, is there another way to make it advance without the computer? Gotpropane says he doesnt even hook up the vac advance on his motors but I am not sure that it will work without it.
How much should the timing be advanced for propane?
