i so wast told in the ford forum that my 351w has a chevy dist and coil on it. and i am doing to wireing fot the motor. i know one of the two wires comeing of the coil is for my tech, my question is dose the other wire need 12v constent or what? thanks for the help


heres a pic if helps, one wire is green( i think this is the tech) and the other wire is black.

So you only have 8 plug wires coming off means HEI. so my guess would be 12v positve

on top of that distributor cap where the wires go into it, there are a couple of hints.
hint #1: "tach" means you put the tach wire there... the green tach wire from the tach.

hint #2: "Bat" means you put the 12 volt *hot when key in Start/RUN position* wire in that post.

holy shit, yes, one wire usually goes to a HOT in run wire, USUALLY coming from your ignition, and the other wire is a tach hook up.
And learn how to spell, its makes the reading of your post so much easier

I think its Davis Unified Ignition, DUI, that makes an hei system for ford engines.

the more chevy you cram in there the better it will run :D
