While wheeling last night my buddy sheered the studs on his 74 cruiser with truck discs and hysteer arms. And while digging thru my parts pile, I was thinking it would be a good idea to carry a spare knuckle for such things. However, who wants or has room to carry around two spare knuckles.
Can the drivers side by used on the passenger or vice versa??

They are not...the disc brake caliper tabs are only located on the back-side portion of each knuckle.
IMO, the vast majority of stud breaks/stud tearouts are due to loosening of the nuts WAY prior to the break. I re-torque mine prior to every ride - since I checked them once and most of the passenger side arm nuts were loose. IIRC, torque is 79 ft-lbs. Double arms make this even worse, so those are a must-inspect prior to a ride.

Nope, and I think the knuckles even have an L and R on them, at least my 2 sets do.
