So what is your best? I am running 33x12.50 with a 2.5" but will be going to 37s or 38.5" and SOA this winter, my goal is to go SOA with xlc springs and 1" of body lift and a shit load of sawzall.... So let's hear it??

Front is 2.5" waggy springs...rear is stock Land rovers with 3" blocks..mounts are no where near where they were for the factory location...I should ba able to trim a little bit more and run 38's..too bad I can't afford them....Stupid wedding:(

I'm running a 4" lift, a body-drop, and 36" TSLs.. thanks to my sawzall, nibbler, and tin-snips.

Comers run 38x11 Boggers with NO lift and a lot of plasma-cutter use..

They had to clearance the bottom of the firewall/rocker area to keep the 38s from hitting the firewall. I need to trim just a little from this area on my trail Scout to keep the 36s from rubbing now and then.

I plan on going to an SOA and building the suspension to WORK, not to clear tires.

'course, I'll also open things up a bit more and make room for some larger tires down the road..

How well do the 44044's balance with the rear stock springs?? Seems like you would have a lot more flex up front??

Didn't I warn you about starting a Scout fund?

You don't need to tell me about the money on the wedding, my idea was a trip to Vegas and $20 in chips for the guests. But nooooo, it had to be a 200+ person event. Could have had a house sooner if we would have not spent the equivalent of a down payment on the house

A successful man is one who can make more money then his wife can spend.

This next week I start on my '72 SCout.
I'm going with full width 14 bolt rear/HD44 front 4.10s
(would like 4.56's or better) SOA/RS on stock springs,
w/ add-a-leaf (= ~2" more lift)
but will either be getting a set of 2.5" springs or a custom set from Alcan Spring next year.

I'll probably start out with 37's?? (36's if I don't get lowwer gears)
I've got a strong 345 (found a 392, that'll go in next, after a rebuild) T-19w, + D300
(I plan on the Tera 4:1 kit as soon as I can spare the $$)

I have a 73 SII with an SOA, added main leaf with cut off eyes in the rear, 2 inch body lift, one inch lift shackle, and stock springs with new poly bushings and new poly body bushings...shock towers and 33" long shock in front and 30 somethings in the rear...when I can keep the upper mounting bolts from coming loose...

http://pic5.picturetrail.com/VOL68/424839/468032/9510929.jpg

Those tires are 35-14-15 Gumbos....I want to run 38" TSL SX's but I think its going to take some major cutting to make it work...may just go with the 36's...but they seem so small now even next to the 35" gumbos....

:(

That is so funny cause when I asked my wife what she wanted for our anniversary - she said gears and lockers and I know she wants an ARB!

I got 31" tires on my scout right now and I will have to trim some metal to get the 36" tires to fit - but hey I got no lift and the bottom of my frame in front is at 29"....

Of course all custom suspension - nothing scout, yet :D
