What are you going to poop in this summer on the Rubicon?

I'm going to be doing some trail repair and I was just wondering what every one has decided to use to poop in the woods.

Are we now going to have a hard time finding a bush that some one isn't all ready occupying.

I can see it now every one will be walking around with buckets looking for a bush or a rock to sit behind.

I think I might just do the 5 gallon bucket thing at first.

I might fab up an nice seat for it too. I'm going to have a few buckets with me to use for moving dirt and water
Stay away from the Bucket Labeled POOP or Crapper.

I hope I don't get a complaint that this is not 4x4 tech.

I didn't see a poop tech section:flipoff2:

I don't have a reciever hitch
and I have plenty of buckets.

That reciever hitch deal I don't know about that I can see some one taking an embarrising unvoluntary trip through thte sluice on one of them.

I take a 5 gal paint bucket (with bags) and an old toilet seat. Somewhere there are pics of the seat hanging off the back of my truck and my buddies truck from a Rubicon trip a few years back. The looks you get are great!:D

The Locosmocos.com pit teams desert racing toilet is a milk crate with a toilet seat on it.

PLenty of dirt to dig in in baja.

I was going to do the toilet seat on the bucket.

The problem with that is, on high traffic trail's (RUBICON) you stand real good chance of standing in someone elses poop hole while digging yours.

Someone post some figures a while back about the amount of human waste that was being buried along the trail each year and it was INSANE.

Pack out your poop, dont just bury it.

Pack it in, pack it out.

I have a "cassock" that I got at Wally World for under 15 bucks. Similar to a bucket in a bucket with bags and a lid.

Course if you don't eat you don't ........

I've done the turd patrol a couple of years in a row on the Rubicon.

It's amazing where people crap.

People are worse then dogs and cats when it comes to selecting a place to unload.

I even found one turd stuck about two feet up the side of a tree trunk.

Just wear a Depends. You can go about 2-3 days before no one will hang out with you because you stink and get itchy ass.

Good show, Lance! My guess is that Monkeyboy wanted more people to think about this than the few that actually read the Rubicon forum.

Let's hope more people "get it".

Paul, Your guess is correct.

I have no problem carrying my own crap out.

the fear of transporting your own crap off the trail disapears after a few years of shoveling other peoples crap off the trail.
I know a select few know exactly what I'm talking about.

That's the exact model I was looking at. My only concern is how well it holds up to really big people... Does it have a weight rating?

I purchased this book a couple of years ago:

How to Shit in the Woods : An Environmentally Sound Approach to a Lost Art
by Kathleen Meyer

It is a great book with scientific info on why proper shit disposal is important, the history of the crapper, and how to dispose of shit in different terrain. Has info for the solo shitter or a group of shitters.

You can find out more here:

Enjoy!

Not important to wheelin' tech I guess....? Sorry Seabass, but I think it's good Todd posted it here. MUCH more people will see it here and they should. This is not just a Rubicon issue.

All you need is 120V :D

Electric Toilet (http://www.incinolet.com/)

Side note: Actually looking at this thing to save having to enlarge a septic system, as a toilet for the detached garage/shop. I have yet to find ANYONE who has actually installed one and used it. Curious about the oder issue (note the vent pipe). Still There are times when welding/grinding I don't want to step into the house for those emergency calls. Oh, no bush watering either, too close to the pump house (well water).

Rather spend $10K on a trail rig, welder, etc than enlarging the septic system!

Sorry Mr. Bass

I'm just not all up on the whole name calling thing It's just become a way of life.

I never actually here my real name any more.
I'm just so used to people calling me names all the time. It don't hurt me a bit. So I figure most people on this site are just as sensative or less sensative then me.:flipoff2:

I think this must be the first time Paul has used my real name :D

and just the other day some one started a post called hey monkey humper or something like that.

Isn't a thick skin something that is required in these parts:confused:

So any way this post was to bring the attention of the people who may not look beyond general chit chat and general 4x4.

I figured saying Poop in this area would gather attention. Looks like it did.

And now we may even have a few less turds to pick up on the next cleanup.

No, it's just seems to be the excuse for everyone to think it's ok to be rude....the sites going downhill in that respect and I won't do it anymore....there just is the reason for it, have a good day and ignore the rude remarks, and you catch more flys with shit then honey;)
