Just swapped in a 4.0L/42RLE in my '97 TJ and want to add an aux cooler to the trans. I'd also like to get rid of the hard lines and put in SS Aeroquip lines with AN fittings.

So... does anyone know the size/pitch of the stock lines where they join the trans? Looks to be around 3/4", but...

The goal is to adapt to AN-6 fittings.

Thanks!
Paul

3/8" NPT comes to mind, but I'll have to check once I get back to the US later this week...

If it's NPT, I'd be suprised if it was 3/8". 1/2" looks to be closer to the right size.

If you can check, great! Decided I'd rather not have hard lines after getting it all together and on the road - the lines hit the body. And SS looks cooler. :D

3/8's pipe thread refers to the size of the hole in the center of the fitting not the thread size. The threads are going to be larger than 3/8's.

Thanks - I'm familiar with NPT sizing. Just want to know what these are without taking it apart. :flipoff2:

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you. I do believe it's 3/8" NPT, but I'd have to pull the skid to verify that. Not high on the agenda right now. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner...

No worries. If you get to it, great. If not... I'll make my own mess. :)

Depending on where you are in CO... next time I'm there I'll let you buy me a beer, too. :D
