: Lookie what I'm using for my front links....
RockRover 06-14-2002, 01:28 PM Purrdy neat eh? I was having clearance problems on the right side of my cheby D60...I want to use a bush at the axle end. With my 2.5" coil-overs, I was having problems with making everything fit (hy-steer, coil-over, bush, housing) As it was I was dangerously close to having the upper link bracket hitting the frame-rail on full stuff (rith in line with the outside edge of my frame-rail). They measure 1.25" wide...And will fit a 3/4" bolt...5/8ths with sleeve. Nice.

O'yea...They're from Avalanche (and don't bother calling...I got the last two). :flipoff2:
Rover Addiction 06-14-2002, 01:36 PM ok, so if you got the last 2, what the heck are you gonna do when they wear out?
:flipoff2:
Looks awesome!! Besides.. now all you need is the stock bump stops bolted to the frame and that'll be perfect!

Dude, with all the free-movement of my suspension, they WON'T wear-out!
Bumpstops? What's that?

Old Scout 06-14-2002, 05:22 PM Are they Natural Rubber??
I bought these for my rear links before I put the Disco mods on the rear burner.
Just for Kyle a update on my Disco doings
There stainless and you can get them form A.M. It's a 3/4-16 stud. They have them in LH and RH.

RockRover 06-14-2002, 06:33 PM Whoa! I had no idea! Those look real nice! If I don't like Avalanche's "Boulder Bush" then I'll go with those. There isn't much info on their site, but they do say that they are graphite/polly. Should be stiff. I was wondering about the "rubber" too. I'll have um' next week. I'll keep ya'll posted.

One thing about the Avalanche bushes...They do have a "Boulder Bush" stamped on the housing! :p I dunno'...It's the Merv the Perv in me I guess!
Old Scout 06-14-2002, 10:46 PM A.M. gets 27.00 ea what does ava want?
RockRover 06-14-2002, 10:52 PM 35 bones...A little too much now that I've discovered what's out there(a'la' SS 30k rating, poly etc)....But not out of the ball park either. Hey it's Avalan$he right?

JMyerz 06-17-2002, 03:29 PM It doesn't sound like anyone has run those ends that Old Scout posted yet. Any speculation to how they will ride on road and how strong they will be? I'm considering making custom links as well.
<edit> I jusr read the web page, 30,000 seems strong enough. I guess I mostly concerned about ride quality since my rig is still a daily.
Thanks
Justin

IMO you'll be fine with those bushING's. All that would happen is you would have a more connected feel with the road....Not to mention true pinion-angle adjustability. I'm really surprised that RT, SG or RW have incorporated these into their "HD" links. Sure, shimming out on the frame end is fine...To a point.

Serious One 06-17-2002, 11:20 PM If anyone is intrested, I have a pair of adjustable rear trailing links that were the dummies for the Serious One. They fit the factory bushings on both ends, are about 18 inches longer than stock and have almost 2 inches of adjustment. Once we figured out the length for the Serious One, we made a pair that were non-adjustable.
I also have a pair of frame brackets for the arms that would need to be welded on, or bolted. Bolt holes are drilled, but the frame would need to be sleeved. It accepts the factory bushing.
I can take a pic of them if anyone wants to see them.
IMO, if you set up the rear bushing angle correctly you don't need to go to the heim joints.
I *do* like the Art Morrison bushings though and didn't know they had those. I am a fan of rubber bushes, and if the poly is soft enough, don't mind that either. Those Avalan$he bushes look nice too, but the A.M. ones seem to be almost the same??? Maybe?
Anyway, just thought I'd mention my trailing links.
