Mike Knorr 09-05-2007, 07:14 PM Still trying to make it. What class will I have to run? Unlimited would be my guess. Any idea on start times yet. Still gotta deal with that wedding at three in the afternoon.
unimog12chicks 09-06-2007, 08:13 AM Mike I will do what i can. one thing i can do is run your class first. I should beable to get you out of there in time. I will help in any way i can
Hope to see you there
93yj8? 09-06-2007, 07:17 PM team OVER THE TOP CRAWLERS is in with you Digger see you friday night:D
renrag 09-07-2007, 12:39 AM Digger,
Will this be a typical rock crawl on the clock, or more of a race over the rocks?
mikE
unimog12chicks 09-07-2007, 06:16 AM Renrag Good to here from you. Old School Rrock. Good old fasion Rockcrawl!! Would love to see you there!! I miss the compitition.
Please if you can make come out and play with us for the day
uroc711 09-07-2007, 06:36 AM i'll do my best to be at the next one.
wiringnatzi 09-07-2007, 06:44 AM Dig, what are the rules for the different classes. specifically tire size in legends class. John is thinking about bringing the flattie out of RROCK retirement.
jnutter 09-07-2007, 11:20 AM This is relatively local to me and the fee is not bad at all, but I've never competed before and I need to know some stuff before I decide to load up my junk on a trailer or not.
What are the rules for the classes? I looked here: http://www.arenatrucks.com/Arkansaw2007.html and didn't see any rules for rock crawlers on the rules page, just mud and tough truck ruless. The front page makes it look like classes are based mainly on tire size.
What are you inspecting for? My Jeep is a trail Jeep, it's got a full cage connected to the frame and a fuel cell but it may not have other stuff you require. Knorr tells me a 5 point harness and master kill switch might be required - but he wasn't sure. Is it true? If so, what are your specs on mounting these items? Kill switch inside or out? There's only a limited amount of time between now and your event, so I'm not sure if I'd have time to add a racing harness or master kill switch between now and then.
Are spotters allowed?
I'd love to come out and give this a shot, but I'd need to know if I'd pass your inspection or not.
I should probably add, I've got a spring over CJ7 on 38" TSLs. The wheel base is around 3" longer than stock. The body is dented but not rusty and still stock other cutting out the wheel wells a bit. Does this put me in your Legends class?
unimog12chicks 09-08-2007, 07:25 AM You should deffinetly install a 5 point harness! kill swicth will not be a big deal. Tire size will probably put you in the legends class. for rules you can checkout rorp.com. we will be using there rules. But this is a first event so rules will be losely inforced. But safety rules will be inforced. Put a 5 point harness in and install a fire extinguisher and you will be fine.
Thanks for the interest. Hope to see you there
jnutter 09-08-2007, 07:59 AM I'm not sure I can get that done in time, but I'll order the harness today.
Are you ever going to do this again? If I can't get the harness in for this event, maybe I can make the next one.
asp_jason 09-08-2007, 08:04 AM there will be several events next year for sure and we hope to keep on expanding the rock course and there's a possibility we may set up some trails and maybe even set up a course up at the quarry.
jnutter 09-08-2007, 08:18 AM Very cool. Thanks.
Harness is on order, 2nd day air.
Fire extinguisher is always in the Jeep.
Dig, what are the rules for the different classes. specifically tire size in legends class. John is thinking about bringing the flattie out of RROCK retirement.
I should bring my 2A so Mike and I can whoop Iowa ass in two classes
:D:flipoff2:
ky scrambled 09-08-2007, 02:44 PM Very cool. Thanks.
Harness is on order, 2nd day air.
Fire extinguisher is always in the Jeep.
If you don't get the harness in time I have a new one I haven't put in yet. You would be more than welcome to use it.
-Rod
jnutter 09-08-2007, 06:59 PM Thanks for the offer. The harness will probably not be what holds me up. I'm still trying to get ahold of the guy who I want to spot for me and a 38 x 12.5 bias ply TSL spare.
I really wish I had some 35" tall TSL SXs so I could enter in the modified stock class. My old trail beater is probably not the hot ticket for legends class...
renrag 09-08-2007, 07:40 PM Now Mr. Nutter is thinking of coming? I want to make it even more now...
Just watched the '97 Rubicon video the other day John. Talk about the
'way back machine'....
mikE(garner)
jnutter 09-08-2007, 08:19 PM Good to hear from you mikE. If you're going to compete, I'll get down to watch even if I can't get my junk ready. :D
Funny thing is, that Jeep I was driving in that video is what I want to run on the 15th :)
I'm trying to get my act together. We'll see if I pull it off. I think I've got a good spotter lined up. Still no spare tire. I'll have to call around on Monday. I'm hoping the spare stays chained to the trailer, but I still couldn't bring myself to go to something like this without one
jnutter 09-09-2007, 07:32 AM Still looking at the RORP rules.
Are you going to enforce this one?
"All open top rigs must have a head pan that meets the following specifications:
Magnetic, flattened expanded sheet metal, 1/8” sheet metal or 1/8” aluminum must cover 100% of the cage perimeter immediately over the driver seat area (minimum 2 foot square) and be welded or bolted to at least the four tubes surrounding the seat. Holes may be drilled but must not exceed 2” in diameter."
I hop your not, at least for this first comp - because I don't have that. That and the Master Kill Switch are the only two that concern me at this point.
unimog12chicks 09-09-2007, 07:36 AM as long as you have a good cage it won't be an issue!! I don't expect any rollovers. we may see one or two on there side but not likely
jnutter 09-09-2007, 08:02 AM Thanks.
My cage is rock solid and well tested.
Satan's_Minion 09-09-2007, 11:27 AM I should bring my 2A so Mike and I can whoop Iowa ass in two classes
:D:flipoff2:
Ohhh Sir! :D
Mike Knorr 09-09-2007, 03:08 PM Ohhh Sir! :D
Hey why don't you tag along with Job I still got that mag lite......
93yj8? 09-09-2007, 08:01 PM were are all you guys camping at ??
wiringnatzi 09-11-2007, 01:00 PM Well, Looks like Howie's transmission is not going to be done in time.
Decisions, decisions, should I bring the Mercedes and embarrass everyone or should I stay closer to home and just go trail riding with some locals that I don't get to wheel with having all the competitions throughout the season. If I stay home John will stay home also so you all won't to worry about picking your jaws off the ground because the Flattie won't be there to kick everyones ass in the legends class either..
Lets see how much trash this starts..
wiringnatzi 09-11-2007, 01:01 PM We were planning on staying at Mike's house..
Mike Knorr 09-11-2007, 01:12 PM Decisions, decisions, should I bring the Mercedes and embarrass everyone.

Well considering how well the last few comp's have gone I think the only ones your saving from embarassement are Jake, John, Howie, and anyone else that claims to be pulling for ya.
But hey I am still on your side. At least there is someone else out there with me at that end of lucky streak... even if it is bad luck streak.:mad3:
Mike Knorr 09-11-2007, 01:15 PM We were planning on staying at Mike's house..
Good luck with that. If I don't make it back from this event in time to get to that wedding Mike not even be staying at Mike's house.

Heard of even more pro-caliber mud racers headed your way. You guys who've never seen NMRO quality racing REALLY need to try to find a bit of time to go see those guys this weekend. You won't be disappointed!

Jeep_Chick 09-17-2007, 03:16 AM This is what I remember, it was really late when it was all over -

Open Class - 1st place Team Digger, there were 8 other competitors in the open class and I cannot remember where anyone else place. Sorry guys!!!
Jeep_Chick 09-17-2007, 03:25 AM Also, it was a great time. We really had fun meeting the new guys and getting to know some of the RROCK super modified/pro-mod guys better. At RROCK we're all wrapped up in the Mod-Stock & Legends classes, for obvious reasons though. Can't wait to see everyone again!!! Digger - when's the next Arkansaw event????
Mike Knorr 09-17-2007, 06:35 AM Open Class:
1- Digger
2- Andy G.

Thats what I remember. It was a great day. Tons of off road stuff going on all day. Not just rock crawling. Truely a great venue for the spectator.
RickP 09-17-2007, 10:51 AM So did you "rock" guys get paid? Or was the purse just empty for the pro mud guys? :shaking:
Mike Knorr 09-17-2007, 11:22 AM So did you "rock" guys get paid? Or was the purse just empty for the pro mud guys? :shaking:

jnutter 09-17-2007, 04:13 PM That's great news Digger. It will help convince my Wife that I need to buy a set of 35s for next time so I can really be in the mod-stock class :)

I would like to give special Thanks To Charity for all her behind the senes work. This would never have been possible with out her.
To ArenaTrucks.com. For there interest in our great sport and a place to compete.

JoshTurner 09-26-2007, 04:44 PM Theres some pissd off mud racers out there also waiting to get paid also...
Very poorly run event if you ask me..
JoshTurner 09-27-2007, 12:15 AM Thread from Jason from Arena trucks,The people that put on the race to some mud racers...
http://www.cmamudracing.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=112
Still a poorly ran race
unimog12chicks 09-27-2007, 06:49 AM I can't talk for the mud guys.
But on the Rock crawl side of things it was a Great turn out and all had a great time. It was our first show and things went very good. The event staff helped when ever we needed it.
As far as the payout goes, we were all disapointed in the way thing fell into place. However i'm sure that if all turns out ok We will all be back. Everybody loved the venue and we all want another place to compete.
So from what i'm hearing from our competitors is, If we get paid we will all be very excited to come back and do it again.
there was a post on the mud racers forum About being in this for the money. Well I can tell you that the rock guys have never been in this for the money. We are in it for the love of the sport!!! However I run my team out of my pocket. My bills and other things get paid after I go play and this payout was very much needed to finish my season. I hope everything works out!!!
Doug and Jason Team Digger and everyone that i have Talked to will be back, If everything gets taken care of. Hope to do it again soon.
Also i was a little disturbed to here the mud guys say that doug got payed $30,000 by speed TV. I have been aroud the TV thing for a while now and i can Assure you all that doug payed them to come out not the other way around!!!!
I understand why now that i havent recieved a call back from Doug, Im Just going to hope for the best and assume it will all turn out good.
Thanks for the Great day and hope all is getting straightened out!
jnutter 09-27-2007, 08:23 AM My check was in the mail today. :)
Just in time too, I'm going 4 wheeling this weekend.
I'll be back. Please keep informed of when the next event is.
John Nutter

93yj8? 09-27-2007, 01:53 PM talked with Doug on wens looks like things should work out $$$$ Were in it for the love of the sport and to keep it growing, but a check sure helps keep the love alive
No check here.
Not too sure I want to waste another day there, if this is how shit is consistantly run.

Yeah, I think that's probably more what's meant about the money from the mud perspective also. Certainly nobody in mud is out to make a living, there's no sponsor money, the purses aren't usually enough to cover gas, and the cost in the sport is growing at a ridiculous pace. Was talking to a friend the other day who has in excess of $50,000 IN PARTS for their SMALLBLOCK  And their team, like most, has almost no sponsorship. So, we know all about that running your team out of your own pocket thing.
BUT, when guys are promised a payout, they expect it to happen. So, they'll naturally get upset when it doesn't.
At any rate, hope it all works out.

What sucks is how long they made us sit around before they told us they would send the cash out...With the show starting several hours late & running late some people had to drive home that night...For our team we were up for over 24 hours by the time we got home & we had pland on going to another race the next day on the other side of the state...
Pretty much all we saw of any of the people that put on the show was to pay to get in the pits & thats it...We techd ourselfs as we couldnt find anyone doing the tech, We even askd at the regestration desk they didnt know...We even had to stage ourselfs & find out for ourselfs what the running order was...
It was like give us your cash & your on your own...
Hope they get there heads out of there asses & Im happy to see some people are getting there money...
If theres another race there it will be intresting...
unimog12chicks 09-28-2007, 07:12 AM Ok! looks like thing are going to work out.
Things may not of worked out acorrding to plan!! But they are new at this. Doug did an amazing job on the courses. I heard the mud course was awsome. The tough truck course was layed out great. The rocks were amazing.
The rock crawl was held for the competitors by the competitors. We all got together and decided how we were going to run and what classes. Courses were set up by letting legends set for open and open setting for legends and stock mod. We judged the same way. Everybody was experianced at all aspects for rockcrawling. The night went off without a problem. It was the most enjoyable comp we have had in a while.
As far as the payout, We were all disappointed at the way things went. However we do understand, I'm sure Doug and Jason will make sure things improve as things move forward.
I hope all that attended will give Arenatrucks.com a second chance, They really are trying. The event site is awsome. The spectator draw is amazing, look were it is located. Doug and jason have done a great job, they just had a set back, from what i have seen it will just make them work harder to make the next one that much better.
Hope to see everyone at the next one
Still no payment. I will not be attending any more events until they can run a few events right. (I'm not hacking on you Digger, by any means) Not that what I do carries any weight, but I imagine many of my friends in the upper midwest will do the same, that were potentially gonna compete in future events.
Could have, and could be a very cool venue, but I will continue to be negative towards anthing the promoters are doing, until they do shit in a stand up manner.
PS. Mike Knorr needs a spotter for ArKanaSS, WI events:flipoff2:

Just remember & pass along that atleast the bogging had nothing to do with the CMA(Central Mudracing Association) & that all CMA events are top notch...
Not sure yet if the CMA will be distancing there selfs with this site or not...
howiebilt 10-02-2007, 05:18 AM I don't know much ... but the venue was very kule ! all of the motorsports I like to see in one location.

rpm4x4 10-14-2007, 03:50 PM Anyone still not paid????
I know of 3 rockcrawlers that are not.
Badlands-Team124 10-14-2007, 08:55 PM We still havent been paid are $600 for 3rd place still waiting can anyone tell me what i need to do to get it?

Well looks like they are paying the people they want to keep there...The Short course guys got paid ASAP then the rock guys for the most part...None of the mud guys did as far as we can find...The guys that came from downsouth( as far away as Georgia) to race are pissd...Theres even talk of a lawsuit...Below is the best thread about it I can find...& there was 1 post by Jason thats from the track..
http://www.cmamudracing.com/racetalk/viewtopic.php?t=112&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
Sounds like they wasted there money on paying for the TV crew to be there & fuckd the racers...
Below is Arena Trucks site..They are the people that put on the race...Jason is the contact person for them & Doug is the head guy...They dont answer any emails or calls...Try you might get lucky..
http://www.arenatrucks.com/
Please keep this thread going with any info you get so we can pass it along..
JoshTurner 10-14-2007, 11:56 PM We still havent been paid are $600 for 3rd place still waiting can anyone tell me what i need to do to get it?
Besides going to the farm where it was & kicking someones ass I think your SOL...Just keep the word out on how bad this place is...Sad to see them ruin a good thing...The least they could do is post whats going on & dont lie about it..They have read this thread very recently so they know people are pissd
JoshTurner 10-24-2007, 01:39 AM To those that havent been paid....Heres an update....I just cut & pasted it from the mud racing board...
"THIS LAST SATURDAY I STOPPED BY DOUG'S SHOP IN GALESVILLE AND I CAUGHT HIM THERE. HE TOLD ME MORE LIES. HE CLAIMS HE HAD TO PAY THE OUTDOOR CHANNEL AND WHEN HE SWITCHED OVER TO THE SPEED CHANNEL HE HAD TO PAY THEM ALSO SO HE HAD DOUBLE MONEY OUT THERE. AT LEAST HE ADMITTED HE DIDN'T HAVE THE MONEY. THE PROBLEM IS HE LIED AS TO WHY. I FOUND OUT TODAY THAT HE DIDN'T PAY THE SPEED CHANNEL. RANDY "THE LAND OWNER" PAID THE SPEED CHANNEL. ONCE YOU LIE YOU CAN'T STOP. EVEN WHEN YOU'RE BUSTED. YOU WILL ALWAYS TRY TO COVER YOUR ASS AND YOU CAN'T STOP. WHAT A SHAME."
unimog12chicks 10-25-2007, 06:51 AM Josh any way you can find out his Home address For us?
JoshTurner 10-25-2007, 03:27 PM Josh any way you can find out his Home address For us?
Best bet would be to go to the CMA racing site & ask Mike Lebakken there...He lives by him...
http://www.cmamudracing.com/index2.shtml
Also try thru the Arena Racing site...
Most rock guys were not payed. I asked around at RRock last weekend.
Is the owner of the property, and the promoter the same guy?
unimog12chicks 10-26-2007, 11:59 AM no there not. I need to find his place of business, the name of it. I have Dougs home phone number and address but i want to try and check him at work
JoshTurner 10-26-2007, 06:14 PM no there not. I need to find his place of business, the name of it. I have Dougs home phone number and address but i want to try and check him at work
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remember the CMA had nothing to do with the probs there...Theres alot of stuff being said & the truth is that the only one that was from the CMA was the anouncer & he was hired to do that job...The mud racers that were from the CMA promoted the race to guys out of state & well they got screwd like everyone eles...
So please pass that along...We want to keep our good name but its hard to do now....

If he does not i will PM all of you that have not been payed his Home address and Telephone number and we our gonna start court papers on him. Enough is enough, we have giving him plenty of time to return our phone calls to keep us updated and he can not even seem to that.
