Liked it a lot. I wouldn't be to concerned about the heat. The elevation and exposer to breezes keep it nice and cool. Lot's of screened windows to open. Only thing about summer is smoke from area fires obscure the views. It wasn't to bad when I was there, lights from Coeur d'Alene could be seen at night and a zillion stars. Book a reservation.

They are, been there once with my Honda FL250. Ran out of gas about 2 miles out on top of a high dune, had to get towed in by a buddy. When we finally got into camp I had to unbury my legs just to get out. Good times :smokin:

The pic really doesn't do those dunes justice tho, they are a lot higher then Florence or Tillamook.

We drove to Paradise yesterday. I had my kids with me so we didn't go far. I'm getting motivated to climb it! How far up did you go?

Ill throw in some Rainier pics. I got up to 8200 feet according to my GPS. It was blowing like hell and cold. That's when I turned around. I wish they had some wheeling roads that would take ya way up. Next trip up I'm wanting to get up to camp muir.

I'm going to hike to camp muir next year, then if everything falls into place, I'm going to try and summit the following year.

Nice marmot shot. I remember the first time I saw a marmot, I was fishing an iced over high lake and it popped out of the rocks right behind me. Scared the hell out of me :laughing:

It was a little tricky to get a shot of. I was walking up the trail and 2 of them hauling ass come up over the hump straight down the trail right at me. I thought I was going to get attacked. About the time I was getting ready to run they went right by me. I managed to sneak up real slow and use my zoom to get him.

I don't think I have the skill and gear to hike to the summit. Be a hell of a view and would be fun to try.

I'll throw in a few pics of Council Bluff and Council lake. I like stopping in there now and then.

I'm Still gearing up, which is a lot of the reason I'm on a two year plan. However I'll be hiring a guide service to babysit me. I figure I've only got a few good years left to knock out that mountain.

I had no idea what a marmot was when I first saw it. I figured out pretty quickly that I wasn't on the menu. They are actually kinda curious buggers.
