Have a buddy who just found one, anyone know the answer to this?
I'm wondering if the tail housing from a Jeep D300 can be used on a Scout
D300? Looking to use the Jeep speedo setup, instead of the Scouts.

Scout Dana 300 = $$$$, if you do have one might wanna look into sellin it, ive seen them go for around $850 stock on ebay.

Thanks Blueray, but he wants to keep it to do a short, adapterless, drivetrain in his flattie.

The answer is yes and no. It must be a rear output from a 1980 model. That is the only one that will fit. I have the AA rear output in my Scout 300. It is the same size shaft and yoke as the Atlas. If you use the jeep rear output shaft, the inside needle bearing race must be taken out or knocked all the way in..
