ok, so I'm a "little" confused, will the welder gurus PLEASE tell what the deal is between continuous and tapped...

tapped means that there are distinct output levels that you can choose from. continuous means that there is an infinite output range. continuous would be nice, especially if you are always working on different material thicknesses and/or sheet metal. tapped is nice because...it's cheaper and it's my understanding that most people don't really need the level of adjustability.

i just bought the 180c about a month ago or so. i looked at the 180 t but only having 4 or 5 settings kind of bothered me. i am sure if i got the tapped it would have been fine, but i got the 180c at the welding supply shop for a great deal. i have been happy with it so far.

i've got the cheaper one. voltage has 5 settings, wire speed is infinite.
it's welded everthing i've ever wanted it to exactly as i thought it should.
i figured for a beginner welder, i didn't need infinite/infinite settings.

What'd you pay for your 180c? I just outfitted with the 180c, a spool gun, and two bottles of gas, one mixed and one not. Out the door at $1375+/-
