Under 1" = -1/4" (1x2 = 3/4" x 1 1/2")
Over 1" = -1/2" (2x4 = 1 1/2" x 3 1/2")

Right??

I havent worked with wood in years (the kind that comes from a tree, not the kind in my pants :flipoff2:), and I think it's right, but need to make sure.

In my pants and maybe in your wife, biotch! :blacktextgrinpimp:

Over 8" = - 3/4" (2x8=1 1/2 x 7 1/4)

Unless the other dimension is more than 2" nominal:
4x8=3.5" x 7.5"
6x10=5.5" x 9.5"

I wish architects would realize that when designing floor systems:mad3:. Sorry, just a framer with a brief chance to vent.
