pulled a motor out of a van at pic n pull, side of the van said 86, but this one has a roller cam and roller cam 4.3s started in 87 according to the rebuild kits. anyway i wanna verify this is a 87
casting# 10105867
anyone help? only thing i could find was v8 chevys

another thing is "Z" is painted/etched into the back of the heads, this means Z motor right? it actually looks like a paint pen more than anything but i know they had Z motors so i just wanna make sure

call the parts dept at your local chevy dealer with the last 8 of the vin and they can tell ya all about it.

I could be wrong here, but an S-10 with a "Z" as the 8th carachter of the vin means it is a 4.3 4x4 truck.
