Hello,

I inherited an old drill press along with a bunch of old woodworking tools. It uses a hand cranked chain type hoist to raise and lower the table. The chain hoist mechanism has given up the ghost. It looks like an aftermarket set up that my grandfather added on after he bought the drill. I'v don some looking and I can't seem to find anything like this. All of the newer drills use track cast into the post for a lift. Any ideas as to where to look? There are no manufacturer marks on the parts. Thanks for any help.

Think i got it. I finally had time today to take the old unit apart. Only a couple of damage pieces so I will sent them to my dad's machine shop to see what they can do in their spare time. I'll see if i can get some pics. I think i have to finally get around to getting a star to post them.
