You can only carry 2 mags on your belt in IDPA. You know this, right?
You'll want individual mag carriers. Being able to space them around belt loops on different pairs of pants and avoid the 'pinchy' spots where they dig into your hip is a big plus, but the main reason is that it's tough to properly draw a magazine (with your index finger on the tip of the first round) from the rear half of a double mag carrier.
What kind of gun are you using?
I personally prefer the comp-tac ones as far as store-bought stuff. I made the ones I currently use out of super-thin kydex, and really like them.
There's a guy selling 2 decent ones for $15 shipped on eBay and glocktalk pretty regularly. I shoot with a guy who uses them, and they're decent stuff. Especially for the money. He's an ESP/MA ranked shooter, so they're clearly fast enough. :)
Just stay the hell away from that Fobus double mag carrier. There is no worse way to waste your money.

I shoot cactusmatch.com I think they combine USPSA, IDPA and USPC(?)
So basically at a reg match on thursdays its my belief unlimited mag holders et.

So, is a combination of all of them? I find it hard to combine IPSC/USPSA and IDPA...they are two kind of different philosophies...
Or do they hold all of them on different weekends?
Just a thought.

Typically IPSC/USPSA with IDPA matching throughout the month
