4-H 4x4 09-10-2007, 07:36 PM I was thinking about getting a roof rack. My friend, who has an 89 XJ, got a roof basket and had it come off during the first trail he went on. He solved the problem by bolting it through the roof. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a better fix if this happened to me or a preventative solution or even a brand that wouldn't have this problem. KiGrind 09-10-2007, 08:34 PM What is it for? If you want it for looks................................. use zip ties. Spare tire? I keep a 32 on its side in my cj7 and still have room for a long camping trip worth of gear/food/parts/etc..... Kids? We found just using rope was pretty good for strapping the kids to the roof when they got too loud or dirty.
