I need to put a bigger trans cooler in my 97 F150 and I have read a few times that one out of a V10 superduty is considerably bigger and is almost a direct swap. I have also read that the 6.0 diesel cooler is even bigger, but maybe too big to fit. I have a ton of room but I cant seem to find Ford part #s or actual pictures. Id rather put an OEM cooler on it than an aftermarket if I can. Anybody have pictures or part numbers? Here is some pretty crappy links showing what I have found so far:

i went to O'Reily's and got the biggest cooler i could get for my 96 PSD. Worked great! I don't run over 195 degrees, no matter how much weight i'm hauling, how fast i'm hauling it or how long.. even in the city. I was warned that running the trans too cold would do as much damage as running too hot. Does you truck already have a factory cooler? If it does just put them in sync. with each other and run them both together. That worked great on my truck. Hope this helps you out. I'm also assuming you have a guage on the trans right?

It has two factory coolers, the first is in the radiator tank, the second is behind the front bumper after the radiator. I am thinking that I am just going to go down to the ford dealer and start looking at the powerstrokes and see what they have. I dont have a gauge, but I am going to put one in when I do this cooler. The reason I know it is getting got is that on one particular hill that is a long pull I will go slower and slower (regardless of throttle, 2nd or 3rd gear) and the grade stays the same. If I pull over and idle for about 10 minutes, boom I can pull another 15 mph for about 10 min then I need pull over again. The speed doesnt bother me, figure its probably roasting the trans though.

Check out ebay. The powerstroke trans coolers are available new on there and some listings give the part number iirc.

Might want to get the cooler from the V10 or get a cooler with a fan from Jegs or Summit.
