tjs80cj 09-12-2007, 06:28 PM Did it for a friend who put the 60 in his buggy. He ran it with a Ram Jet 502 700r4 Klune and Atlas for 1 1/2 yrs with no problems. He sold the buggy to another friend who put an LS1 in it and has been running it for about 3 years also with no problems
biggin 09-12-2007, 06:47 PM Im running drw hubs turned down. I did everything you have I.D.ed in the pic except truing up the face where the wheel will bolt to. Its a trail only rig and they arent that untrue anyways. Oh and im running 42 iroks with 4.0. I dont baby it either.
widmayer123 09-16-2007, 01:40 PM Thanks for the info
I'l let you know how it works
robeod 09-16-2007, 04:48 PM I'm running turned down hubs, had the wheel mounting surfaces cleaned up by machine shop also, no problems.
CJeep77 09-16-2007, 05:41 PM I welded on a 1/2" backing plate on a set I made for a friend. No worries!!!
TexanToast 10-08-2009, 12:11 PM Could anyone list the dimensions the hub was turned down to I'm taking mine in to have em done and would like the right measurements for obvious reasons thanks
fordnut 10-08-2009, 12:29 PM how much is it gonna cost you . ive done it myself so it just cost time but if you are paying then you might be better off buying hub and rotor asemblies they are pretty cheap and you look like yyou will be buying rotors and wheel studs anyway.
Chava Vital 10-08-2009, 02:13 PM yes a i got my d60 dually to, and i´would like to do the same job too, thats any one have more pics about this ? i´m really going to appreciate that...:laughing:
O is really better to buy hub and rotor asemblies?
anchovy 10-08-2009, 02:19 PM I've ran a few of them that way with no problems.
420willys 10-08-2009, 03:07 PM Could anyone list the dimensions the hub was turned down to I'm taking mine in to have em done and would like the right measurements for obvious reasons thanks
messure the ID of your rims and make it a tad bigger, like a 1/16th or a little larger. i have a set down stairs and never really messured them, but i know there cut to take the ford and dodge style rims witch are bigger than the OEM chevys.
jason.
the freeak 10-08-2009, 03:52 PM I can't remember who posted, but they said they did this, and the hub broke!
I will try to find their post.
Moore87 10-08-2009, 04:07 PM X2 on machining costs.... FWIW I bought new hubs with rotors, races, and studs installed at the dealer for ~$165 each. (Chevy Hubs)
Flatty 10-08-2009, 06:13 PM I took my old hubs and traded them straigh across on TDR for a set of single wheel hubs. Why machine them down when someone else can totally use them.

That would be me. I turned it down to the OD of a Solid hub. Turned a little too far into the weld. Broke the center portion right out. Turned out to be a bad day.
the freeak 10-09-2009, 08:01 AM aha.
Shit, I searched for an hour last night, but I just couldn't remember what the topic or your user name was.
Thanks for chiming in.
TexanToast 10-09-2009, 09:30 AM Yeah I keep hearing about these illusive $125-$165 hubs and rotors I've called gm direct I've called dealers and black bird customs as well as porc and about 24 other places and the cheapest ones are $400 so if you can get me Dana 60 srw hub and rotor assemblies for 165 not only will I buy them but probably got a good dozen other people as well as some distibutors that will by some. Don't know where you are but up here., for some reason just don't hve extra Dana 60 parts laying around for dirt cheap. If there is anyone one here who wants these drw's I'd be more than happy to trade. Or can you please give me specifics on where you purchased them
Thanks
DanYJ93 10-09-2009, 09:42 AM This is from a guy I was dealing with back in January. He lives in Kansas.
"From: j last [mailto:jlast79@hotmail.com]
Subject: RE: ford SRW hubs
I have them in stock pretty regularly though i just went
a month without a set. only have the 1 set right now.
$120 bare w/bearings as shown, $10 for studs. OR $175 complete with
good used rotors ( i will need to double check the set i have)
no interest in your dually hubs at this time, i have a few sets already :)
Thank you,"

fordnut 10-09-2009, 12:00 PM yeah i can get them for 125 bucks studs races and all any day of the week. where do you live i can prob do better if you want a lot.
no_bs 10-09-2009, 01:19 PM Ford SRW hubs are easy to find. A dana 50 hub from an F250 is a dana 60 hub. Gm's are the hard to find ones.
TexanToast 10-09-2009, 04:55 PM Ok to those of you who still think gmdirect has these you are wrong they are permanently removed from stock they are not making anymore Nor do try plan on it. I have spoke with a rep and they are going to remove them from the catalog.
As to my location I live in Vancouver bc Canada. If you can get slot of them I'll make arrangements I have a friend owns a moving company that can haul up a big load I can move slot of these if the price is right
I'm guessing you talked to someone at a dealership and not gmpartsdirect. They don't have a service line, so you may or may not get it, they DO NOT have customer service. It is non-existent. I don't know who my friend found me a set through.
TexanToast 10-09-2009, 10:12 PM Jesus people score you start lecturing people on what is or what isn't at least know what you are talking about first hand rather than hearsay. The guys name is flloyd and no. They font have a phone number but they do have customer support. Check for your self.!!!! You want a copy of the email. Jesus Christ you think j say this shit just to hear my self type?

Moore87 10-10-2009, 08:55 AM The part may be discontinued but they are still available. I know this for certain. My friends didn't buy them, or some guy my cousin knows, I bought them from the local dealership for $165 each 3-4 months ago. I have had good luck with partsoneonline.com as well.
http://partszoneonline.com/parts.php?srch1=15635530&srch2=&srch3=&srch4=&srch5=
Or Highhonda here on the board has them for $400 shipped.
Heresay, I just did this 3 weeks ago. Google GM parts direct, find a phone number, or even just look up the horror stories with them. Yes, they have quit making them, you cannot walk into a dealership and get them anymore unless you're lucky enough to find one way in the back, they never sold.
mphudak 10-10-2009, 05:55 PM As 95yj said, they are available (and it's not hearsay as I was involved on getting him his.)
They're also available for 179 each/350 pair from 4wdfactory.com
Firewiz 10-10-2009, 08:18 PM for whats it's worth I bought some through my local GMC dealer. I think you just have to find the right Counter guy that has a clue and is willing to help. He had about three different sources for the hubs, just took a few calls. The price was in line with partsdirect with shipping. Any ideas where I can unload the DRW hubs, hate to scrap them.
fordnut 10-15-2009, 09:32 AM still very available. this is like the 20 dollar reward thread in the ford section with all this yes or no hearsay lmao. i can get them any day of the week
TornadoTJ 01-05-2010, 08:42 AM Ford SRW hubs are easy to find. A dana 50 hub from an F250 is a dana 60 hub. Gm's are the hard to find ones.
Can someone give me a span of years to ask for to get these hubs? I just contacted my source for used parts and they said they need a span of years to look for.
