I don't know if I'm in the right forum but I'm trying to find information about the Rubicon. I'm stationed on Camp Pendleton in San Diego and I want to do a family trip to the Rubicon. I have a 1990 3/4 ton suburban with 6" of lift, 38" TSL Radials, and rough trails aren't aren't out of the question. The trip I want to plan is more for sight seeing and camping with the family. Where can I get useful maps, GPS coordinates and directions to the trail head. Do you know if there are any full size trips planned that I might be able to get with? I would like to go to Spider Lake in particular. Thanks for anything.

Hope you don't mind body damage
FYI you would get a much better response in general 4x4

This forum is for the maintenance and preservation of the Rubicon trail. Like Robert said, you'll get a better response in the General 4x4 forum.
But, to answer your question- your Suburban could make it to Spider but it's gonna get beat to hell. I see fullsize rigs on every run I make but they show their battle scares from the trip :)

I'm posted on the General Board now and getting a lot of info. Thanks for your help and thanks for working so hard to keep trails open.
