I've been thinking and thinking and doing more thinking. I'm thinking I may pull my Ranger Underdrive and H55f and selling them to go to an auto. I just wanted to get a feel for what the market might be. The Ranger is a 17% underdrive unit for a 19 spline Toyota tranny either h42 or h55f. The Ranger was rebuilt with new bearings in January, it probably has less than 4,000 miles on it. Totally, it has about 30,000 miles on it. The h55f is originally a BJ60 tranny converted to a F/H input shaft with all new bearings, seals, shifter cups, etc. It has about 900 miles on it. I do not have the bearing retainer on it as I sold it with my 4speed. Any h42 bearing retainer from a 60 would work for this. The Ranger requires that the bearing retainer be removed. I'm sure I could locate one if someone did not have access to finding one on there own. The h55f is wonderful on the highway and on the trail. It helped my gas mileage tremendously. I went from 12-14 to 15-16 mpg. Remember I have a V8 and 4.10 gears with 33s on a heavy wagon and drive 75 plus mph. I will entertain all offers, but really I need to have both sold to make the automatic/203/split case conversion feasible.
