will 31x12.50 tires fit on a 85 s-15 jimmy with a 3" body lift? Or are they too wide? What backspacing should I have on a 15x10 rim. Could i use 15x8 rims with a 12.50 tire?

most guys here really don't give a sh*t about 31" tires.

I had 31 x 10.5 w/ 3 - 4" susp lift & they rubbed on 7" rims with too little backspacing. I had to get 7" w/ stock backspacing.
Based on that, I'd say no way you're going to run 12.5's witout major rubbing. Maybe some cutout flares would do it.

my 88 S10 has a 3" Rancho suspension lift. 15x8 wheels with 3 1/2 backspacing. Only rub was at full lock and with a tire stuffed in the wheel well.
