I just installed a gear driven starter on my 302. There are four positions that the mounting ring can be placed in and only one works in my application. It bolts up fine but the starter touches the oil pan. Anyone have this problem before? The starter is "Performance World" p/n 9603XPW

Same as this one: http://expressauto.zoovy.com/product/9603X

I thought about that but there is a web in the casting right where I need the hole to be.

Here is the new starter next to the old one.

Return it and use an OEM gear reduction starter that does fit?
