Has any one had any experience with randy's r&p's "chromoly" dana 44 front axles. Are they worth a sh*t, and how have they compared to Warn's. I'm wondering because the are alot cheaper.

Do they actually have them in stock now? Last word I got was 6-8 weeks, that was 4 weeks ago, and about 3 months after the first time they said 6-8 weeks.

I'm going to try them when they come in. They only have the inners as I understand, not chrom-moly outers.

I'd imagine they will be comperable to the warns, hope they changed the forgings as they can be improved from the spicer axles, the warns seem to be copies of spicer forging probably used the same dies. I haven't had a chance to call Randy's yet, I didnt know they were not available yet, I guess they haven't come off the boat yet.

Any new word on these shafts?

I found this thread in search because I have called on these shafts and got prices. I am planning on getting a set. If I ran these with CTM's, is the lockout the weak link?

Ok.......do the Randy's shafts allow the use of full snap rings?

This is an important feature IMO, otherwise the ears are going to be trashed in no time and guess what...Randy's doesn't warranty the ears of the shafts

I just talked to Richard at Randys.
They will be $300-$350 a set. That's with new spicer u-joints

They are fully hardened axles. He said they tested them in the shop next to the warns and the theirs were way stronger.

They have a 5 year no questions asked warrenty:D

They do take a full circle clip

I guess I'm going to give them a try. So I gave him my name and number and he's going to call me we they come in.

I was told they were supposed to be in 2 weeks ago. So who knows.

I just called and talked to someone, don't remember his name, and he told me that they just had a meeting today and one of the subjects was about these shafts. He told me they are suppose to be available in 6 weeks and that he did not know what the price was going to be, but that it would include inners, outers and u-joints.

Also he was mentioning that they are suppose to be coming out with a u-joint that will be as strong as the CTM. So who knows??
