It didn't hit 70 degrees here today, and I got to thinking I need to insulate my shop and quick. It's a polebarn and I am ready to buy this stuff.

Anyone use this or any of the foil, reflective type like this?

I am pretty sure that is the stuff we have in our shop at work. It works pretty well, but we do have floor heat, so that may make a big difference.

I'm jealous! It hasn't got below 100 degrees here in a long time! :)
Seriously, I have been looking for a reflective barrier/insulation to keep out the heat. I have seen foil backed bubble pack, but haven't seen foil backed foam. That stuff looks interesting.

I use the foil bubble foil stuff. Works great.
Can only imagine that the foam would help it out.
I like the extra sound deadening part of it.

it says it works best with at least 3/4'' of air space on both sides........can someone tell me how you could set this up in a wall floor etc.
They don't seem to recomend just staple or glue directly to a surface.

well with a 2x6 wal you could do 2x2 around the perimiter then stapel to that should give adiqaute air space . . .

Scott, have you priced spray foam? Seems that it's the cat's ass anymore when it comes to insulation. What are you going to do with the ceiling? Dry wall over the trusses or insulate the inside of the roof?

I'm going to insulate the roof most likely, and this type of insulation is conducive to that. It's basically got a built in vapor barrier.
The spray in costs twice as much as this stuff from what I can tell.
Doesn't matter much because my shop heater is the epirome of overkill. :smokin:
