: California legal AR mag retention device
aloharover 09-16-2007, 07:08 PM I can not find the post someone just put up about how to build an AR in CA.
I know, I was the d&*(head that made snide comments about making it a sticky. Yeah it came back to bite me in the ass.
I have a customer that already has a unlisted lower in his possession.
I know that I can ship him all of the parts from a kit. But want to make sure I advise him correctly.
aloharover 09-16-2007, 07:16 PM OK I found the 10 round tool required kit

And the info on calguns

TNToy 09-16-2007, 08:33 PM I can't use the search feature worth a damn.
I ran a search (this forum only) for "cali"
That was pretty fawking difficult, wasn't it? :flipoff2:

TNToy 09-16-2007, 08:37 PM Almost forgot... Aloha may be the one that shut his dick in the door, but it's our job as loyal PBB members to slam it on his junk repeatedly. :D
So, Aloha, here's your exact quote:
Not to be a dick but I don't see any reason at all for this to be a sticky. If anything deserve stickyhood its the DIY AK thread.
I think I'd better wait a couple weeks before I call SRP asking for a 'PBB discount'. Might cost me extra.
:p
aloharover 09-17-2007, 06:49 AM I search for "california ar build"

I hope you don't stake carrier keys like you run searches. :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
Better make that six months before I call SRP looking for a deal...

Keith Strong 09-17-2007, 07:21 PM I make my own now and sell em for $15 instead of $25 the prince 50's sell for
I am not a firearms lawyer - so don't deem this as legal advice. However, there are numerous court cases currently in CA involving this "CA legal" retention devices.
Both the Prince 50, as well as the Bullet Button. I do not own an AR at this time because of it. You have been to Calguns - now go to the 2nd amendment section and see "Current Cases" at the top. The only CA compliant way I see is with the Monsterman Grip or the U-15 stock - these eliminate the "evil" pistol grip - and can now have a 10 round removeable magazine.
Also have to be careful that some 10 rounders have been found to hold 13.:homer:
Hope this helps some - I am not willing to risk an AR with pistol grip until the courts have made a decision they are legal in CA.

Where the fawk have you been? :flipoff2: I haven't seen you on either board in a while. Those mags turned out to be 6.8 10 rounders :homer:

Trying to not go there for awhile - trying to get my rig running again. Have to focus.:D
Been here in Chit plenty though during the workday.

I should try that to, my junk has been sitting in my driveway for over 6 months, and all I need to do is fix a broken fuel line and replace a gasket in my t-case :shaking: after I spend $1200 on a new BTO 700r4. Damn I am a dumbass.
TNToy 09-19-2007, 01:20 PM See, at least I figured it out. I'm tearing my rig apart and selling piecemeal to fund my firearms addiction... Problem is, I can't seem to start disassembling it. :(
